John,

Probably some truth and some rumor, and a lot of wishful thinking at Cisco.

Disgruntled? Probably true due to current stock performance. Hey, even I'm disgruntled and I don't work for Bay. I also don't expect the depression to last that long. I don't believe your analysis is quite correct. Sr Management I hear is being upgraded, notice several press releases recently. People jumping ship, nothing out of the ordinary, hey I hear people are jumping ship at Cisco too. come to think of it, Intel, Microsoft and Oracle have people jumping ship as well. That's life my friend.

If you're trying to imply that Bay is on fire like Cabletron, not even close. My friends at Bay are very upbeat, except on recent stock performance and tell me that the rest of 98 looks VERY good. They say it's a great company and the future looks very good. My friends at Cabletron, well they don't echo the same feelings.

I to like my disgruntled friends on the inside of Cisco, only difference, they are not disgruntled over stock performance, but expect to be later on this year. Let's just say the enthusiasm they had over the past couple years is gone.

INS has put themselves in a very precarious position and by doing so will lose business from one side of the fence or the other. Time will tell. I think it's 7 or 8 % they own.
