Your moral deficiency originates with your nonpayment of your obligations to the shi shi. Then you compound the moral outrage by confiscating $20 in escrow funds owed to brad. If yitze wants his sandwiches, brad says all he has to do is call him and arrange to meet with him. But first, brad wants disbursement of the escrowed funds.
