sonki: M.Dell / CNBC interview and MRK down reasons

I have not seen any specific bad news on MRK checked yahoo

M.Dell:

sustain strong performance in server and bus. mkts
hold leadership position in the industry
About INTC/CPQ warnings: User active purchases has not changed
About excess inventory problem as in CPQ:
not in low-end mkt - do not have problems as in the case of CPQ
Dell does not have prod. transition pob. as CPQ - Those prob. has been an opportunity to Dell.
Dell meet the needs of end-user - latest technology- growth strong - users need powerful systems - rich e-mail - powerful apps like SAP,Bonn,PSFT require 64MB Pent.II corp. end users
Is it impossible for Dell to have inv. prob?
Dell maintains 7day worth of inv. while competitors hold 14 times of dell's.- Dell's likelihood of getting into such prob not high
About Acquisitions:
not a strategy - has 4 times the gth of industry - focus on internal gth

WIN 98:

Dell sees a 100% gth in the area of small business - Win 98 is a catalyst - Dell does not see delay in Win 98 - going full steam ahead -
Justice:
Dell priovides infn. as required by Justice

IMHO: It is up beat and optimistic. It may have some salutary effect on INTC etc.
