While I am not an expert on FDA thinking I would think this will get relatively rapid consideration. We are talking here about stopping blindness in AIDS patients and the AIDS lobby was a big factor in getting rapid approvals and the FDA is sensitive to moving on any AIDS related drugs. I don't think they will take the attitude that hey this is only blindness not death so we can twiddle our thumbs for a year. On the other hand there may be some with concerns about antisense in general that may want to hash out some issues
