Anyone read WSJ??? Here's an excerpt to fuel the current rumor.
Elemedia is a division of Lucent. it is referencing implementing this
through Netscape's browser.

Elemedia's software lets users make telephone-quality calls over
the Internet in a speaker-phone format and to hear CD-quality
audio programming, a recent demonstration at Elemedia's lab
showed. Rather than the herky-jerky, start-and-stop conversations
of today's cruder Internet-phone software, Elemedia's allows
callers to converse without having to wait while the other speaker
talks. A video version of the software, allowing for desktop
video-conferencing via the Internet, will be available by the end
of the year, Lucent said.
