By reading over the thread today I can see few longs sold into this rally. Luckily I covered my short this morning and I am sure I was joined by hundreds of other shorts today. (I did buy a few October 100 puts at the close because I would feel almost naked if I didn't have any position).

I doubt there was much new shorting going on since borrowing shares on a day like today would have been very difficult. Most brokerages just won't lend them out when a stock gets this volatile. But since so few individual investors were selling today with dreams of $150 to $1000 and splits to eternity, then who were the sellers? Like I mentioned getting shares to short would have been very difficult today. On a day with 11 million in volume, does that leave "Institutions"?
