Steve,
LU may indeed buy YURI for the ATM access, but YURI does not make and ATM switch... They make ATM concentrators.
As for your previous post regarding Stix from Cowan...perhaps you should ask him what he meant in the aritcle when he stated "remote access concentrator". This is specific class of product. If he used this term to include ATM CPE then I would question his knowledge of the industry....which to be honest I don't. Rather, he used the term remote access concentrator to discuss the demand for ISP dial modem POP's.
Finally, I never said that YURI would not get deployments.... geez if I thought that I wouldn't own it. I don't think however that they have a long term life.
Oh...and regarding your comment about end to end ATM and the ITU....nice try but nearly every carrier is moving to IP nets on the edges...some even in the core. Your comment that no other technology can support toll quality voice is flawed. It's being done today over many environments. Qwest, Williams, GTE, USWest, even AT&T is in discussions about their next generation IP net which they will use to carry voice. But then you knew that... but believe it's a BAY, ASND, CSCO, COMS, MSFT, VOCLF, etc. etc.. pipe dream... To much weight behind this one my man.... way too much weight... That's a battle YURI will lose long run...
