Worldwide offshore rig count increases

HOUSTON: The worldwide offshore rig count increased by one since last week, according to Offshore Data
Services' weekly mobile offshore rig count.

Today, 584 of the world's 609 mobile offshore drilling units are under contract. Worldwide offshore rig utilization
is 95.9 percent.

One rig left the U.S. Gulf of Mexico to work offshore Mexico. However, the contracted U.S. offshore rig count
recorded no net change on a week-to-week basis. Today, 169 of the 175 mobile offshore drilling rigs in the U.S.
Gulf of Mexico are under contract and the region's rig utilization rate is 96.6 percent.

The rig moving to Mexico will boost the number of mobile offshore rigs under contract in Mexican waters to 16.
Rigs active offshore Mexico are working in water depths ranging from 90 feet to 670 feet.

The European offshore rig count is unchanged from last week. With 106 of the 110 offshore rigs in the region
under contract, European offshore rig utilization is 96.4 percent.
