Even worse for people like Alex and me-and yes-we admit we have a problem with telling people they're pondscum no matter what we might be thinking--are the ones who sell door to door. The young kids who try to tell you they won't get to college if you don't buy their_____(magazine, restaurant coupon book, brass doorknob cleaner) and start out by shaking your hand and grinning ear to ear because they are so damn glad you're home and they smell a sucker. I bought a pint once of this concentrated cleaner for 39.00 and when I went to use it the next week it had all evaporated. Not a drop left. I never even found out if the stuff worked.
