V.K., I do not disagree with you or David about the terrible mess that NOVL is in, Wall Street hates this company. Even die hard fan like me feel fraying at the edges sometime over this stock. Interesting situation for me, that is. Here is a company that can grow ~15% annually (which is more than 2X the growth of IBM), and not bleeding money (except for last quarter), and still the stock suffers a slow death.
It is true that MSFT's NT is growing rate is faster than NOVL, but then it is growing from a small base. Can MSFT's NT grow faster than NOVL's NW when the market share of each company is neck-to-neck ??? I don't know, and I can't tell. The only thing I can certain about is that NOVL is going through a metaphosis. Can they transform successfully from a small company to a large company ??? I don't know, but I do know that many successful company will have to go through this phase when their annual revenue is at ~$1B (look at history of Compag, Dell, and even MSFT -- all these companies had gone through the same difficult phase to find their destiny).
That's said, I can only tell you that I am intend to hold on to NOVL shares until I become rich from it or I'll burn them when they go bankrupt, and I will buy more shares when I have additional cash in the interrim. Who knows, may be ten years from now when NOVL shares is trading at $100/share people will praise me for being smart; if NOVL declared bankrupt, then nobody will call me a fool because this thread will no longer exist.
However, if you really gutsy like I think you are, go and chase after DSPC and PROX, it is definitely more fun than NOVL. I did. |
