I agree, cm, about the community stuff. That's sooo important. They need the message boards, they need games and fantasy sports, they need to build their online brand name with reasons for lots of eyeballs and page views. Yahoo now has their own magazine, credit card, they have their own online service (w/MCI, but branded in their own name), they have insurance quotes, message boards and tons of co-branded deals for content. They're becoming a one-stop Web shop, like a web aol - keeping people on their site. SEEK needs to develop the community feel and if Motro's as sharp as we think he is, SEEK's gotta be working on it. I feel they also need an aggressive marketing campaign. In my market (SF Bay area) they sponsor some radio news but that's about it. Think of the sites you spend a lot of time on, with several page views per visit. THAT is the content SEEK has got to build up. I think we're in this stock still in the very early stages. That's why I like it so much. I'm very comfy owning a top 4 search engine right now. To me , like owning a network stock in the 50s or an automobile stock in the 30s. New business, incredible growth opportunity. The web is catching on faster than anything else ever (did you know it took 40 years for the zipper to catch on) It'll be interesting to see where this all is later this year and in 4-5 years. Luck to all SEEKers and too bad for all non-seeks. |
