It may be valuable to review: sec.gov In considering the significance of the SEC announcement there are two aspects which may not be obvious to infrequent visitors to the SEC web site: (1) There is a link to the announcement on the main (home) SEC web page: sec.gov I can't recall an instance in the last five or six months where there has been such a link to a specific enforcement action (though possibly I've missed and/or forgotten previous instances). (2) The announcement is in html format rather than the less esthetically pleasing plain vanilla text format reserved for the announcements of most enforcement actions. For example, here is an enforcement action related to a relatively small pyramid scheme: sec.gov Now all this may simply indicate a change in emphasis with the appointment of a new enforcement chief (a link to the announcement of his appointment is also on the home page). Or it may simply reflect a move to upgrade the SEC web site. Or, just possibly, it may reflect the importance that SEC associates with this case.
