Dale:

Thanks for the superdisk link. I still believe these are products that can coexist with syquest. imation's ls120 is fine for storage but unacceptable for running apps due to speed. the sparq can run apps.

however - the threat is if a superdisk company can get scsi speed connection and still read 1.4 and 720k disks.

or, perhaps the 1.4 dies in place of 100-200meg $5 diskettes.

thinks aren't sounding good for syquest right now. i thought i was in for the long haul - but i don't want to sit around 3 for another 9 months.

perhaps now is the time to bail, watch the stock and jump back in 3Q if the competition hasn't established a better hold.

in my deep gut i still wonder if IOM would be the way to go - they have the capacity and distribution in place. sure the zip is history, but i can't believe their R&D is dead with nothing on the horizon.

syquest is sexy, but i don't think they have the resources to pull a knock out punch. it feels like they are forever doomed to play catch up along with periodic warrant conversions to cover short term working capital (not capacity expansion/marketing) - thus sticking the price at $3 for up to 12 months prior to folding.
