really appreciate your posts on Japan Alex...heard that currently with
weak yen, Japanese cars are about 4 or 5 thousand dollars cheaper
than their American counterparts..
that Rubin is backing the intervention move in currency, even if the
US didn't help with the concerted effort really has my attention..
if Japan has almost bottomed..another place other than gold to flow..
smart money looks for contrary plays and as it moves away from inflated Dow where will it find its home?
If Rubin,"all knowing", sees the trade balance as extremely dangerous
to big american business which employs so very many workers, will
the US step in also?
Will Japan start selling more US securities as another means of tanking the dollar?
Everything I have read so far says dollar still in strong mode..
who knows, maybe Rubin will announce one day how much gold is backing
the dollar after European Common currency's requirements is announced..So very many wild cards..also governments have proved in past that they can alter directions for a period of time..
Clinton's attack on tobacco and apparently all out attack on Microsoft's strangle hold(didn't they just announce another buyout)
may have impact on market..
Heard that Clinton may become even more vocal on issues that before
politicians wouldn't touch to divert attention from other issues..
and to strengthen his position among other voters...
(the news from Alabama really shook me up...the powers of nature make
these politicans look like ants..although they can affect a huge number of people...heard that Indonesian food supply in dire straits..
revolutions are easily formed when people don't have basic necessities
for survival..since they have nothing to lose
