Don't have any evidence, but I ask you this:
Why would Nagy (a reasonably sharp individual) sell CIT for several $10mm's and plunk $10mm down on non-existent technology... could be he's trying to make a quick buck, but it doesn't fit his profile.
Why would Ken (one of the sharpest technical people in Canada) join the board and risk his reputation without believing in the technology?
Sure he probably got 10,000's of options but again it doesn't fit the profile.
At the end of the day, with a startup all you're really buying is the people, and the people associated with this operation (with the possible exception of Jack Banks), look good enough to me. I've met many of the players on the tech scene in Canada, and I'm hard pressed to find a better roster... the only other Canadian publicly listed small-cap company I like from a senior mgt standpoint is LTV... if there's any others out there I'd sure like to hear about them... I went to 100% cash at the beginning of October in my RRSP and still haven't found a good home for half of it (charitible donations to members of SI is not an option :-).
