RE: Reliability of Zip

Rod,

How much weight should I give to an unsubstantiated
assertion about Zip quality problems from an expert
named Moosewinkle? Do you think it should cause me
to think that the three Zips and one Jaz I use regularly,
along with about 30 Zip disks and 5 Jaz cartridges,
are flukes because they haven't given me any problems
whatsoever, just as my 2 Bernoulli 44s and dozens of
Bernoulli cartridges never gave me a bit of trouble?
Do you think it counteracts the adoption of the
Bernoulli as the backup of choice in the Department
of Defense for sensitive data?

I wish the hard drives I've used over the years had
this kind of quality problem. Maybe I should start
buying Moosewinkle brand hard drives.

Cheers, Tom (long IOM)
