The digital mistake was very big. I don't think you can compare that situation to today's market place. Digital ignored the PC market. Dell is not ignoring that market. I don't think PC makers are making money on the sub-$1000 systems. Dell probably doesn't see the bottom line in the small margins that would come about by selling the sub-$1000 PC's. The idea is to make money, and promote leading edge technology, not go backwards with obsolite equipment.
