Mikey,
Great story! You're a good story teller. It was easy to picture the whole incident. And if was so funny! I'm still chuckling even as I respond.
The next time that John and I went down to see Bry our fishing luck was turning out about the same way. Bry had a lease on a couple of ponds that he would go out and fish periodically. We all climbed into his truck and headed out early the first morning. We fished the pond for quite some time but didn't even get a bite. Understandably, Bry was a bit uncomfortable because on the two times we had come down to see him and fish, we had nothing to show for it in the way of fillets.
We were getting ready to leave when John asked Bry if he knew of any other spots. He said there was a smaller pond about 100 yards from the road which took us right up to the pond we had spent some time fishing at for the morning. But he didn't think there was anything in it. Well, what the heck, lets go check it out.
You know how bass usually lay up near shore and then quickly move to the deeper water when someone walks up? A person can see the water move a little bit by the momentum with which they flee to deeper water. When we approached the pond, we saw some of these ripples so we knew there were fish in it.
Well to make a long story short, it was like shooting fish in a barrel sort of speak. Every single thing we through at them, they went after. It was by far the best fishing experience I've ever had. Between the three of us we took about 7 or 8 fish back to Bry's house. And we caught them all in about 45 min. It was like a dream almost.
I kind of like to have something to remember such good times, so I always take a camera along. As soon as Bry through his lure, he got a hit and hooked one. So I ran over to where he was and started snapping pictures. Just as Bry got his catch in, John accross the way had one on. So off I ran.
No sooner had I gotten there that Bry had another one on. Finally I said to heck with this, I'm gonna FISH!
Yep, it was a memory I would love to repeat several times over.
Catch ya later, |
