I like the Jerry Seinfeld ploy. I have had 100% success with it. In case you missed that episode, you take the call (I get some really really weird ones; photo studios, magazine subscriptions, Florida vacations, etc.) and you wait for an opening. You ask, "May I ask you, what time to you generally eat dinner?" [answer] Then you ask, "May I have your home phone number please?" [pause..."uh, no...I am not permitted to give that out."] your snappy retort: "Ah! Well, now you know how I feel!" ...and you hang up. I love it.
