Greg,

Thanks for exposing part of the true self. It can be a fearful experience since their are so many ready to spear the individual rather than his beliefs. Our beliefs are simply coats of paint over the real self. Man has an obsession of dressing himself in acceptable cutlural norms to feel accepted and meaningful. Sadly, politically correct cultural and intellectual dress can never fill the deep void in every man's heart.
Man was created to fellowship and commune with God. Sin has separated us from God, broken our fellowship and communion, and left a void in the human heart. The void is a gulf between man and God that cannot be bridge by any human effort. This is why Christ offered himself as a sacrifice for our sins. He is the only bridge brige by which man can traverse the gulf of sin and be reconcilied to God.
Man cannot know peace until the void is filled and nothing can fill the void but fellowsip and communions with God.

Since you are about to read the Bible, can I be so bold as to ask you to read it with an open heart. I would like to pray a prayer with you and hope you and others can join me.

Father, we come before you in humility and brokeness in the name of Jesus and ask you to reveal yourself to Greg. You know Greg's heart, you know his doubts and know his sins. So far Greg has found no reason to believe and worship your Son Jesus, but he is still searching. There is a hunger and an honesty that I perceive in Greg and we ask you to reveal yourself to Greg as He reads the Gospels and Epistles. I ask you to touch his heart and mind so that he will be open to truth and reality.
I also ask you to open the eyes of his heart and allow him to see. I ask you to give Greg a revelation of your Son that he can never doubt. Thank you Father in Jesus' precious name.

Regards
Emile
