tango - thanks for the wws info, I think it is relevant to spe, and not just because I also hold wws -g- (I hold a few cgz still as well). Depending on how the Kazakhs follow through with contracts they make, the market will adjust its perception of the country risk accordingly. There does seem to be a new and fairer attitude happening in K. I highly doubt that they have the money to pay wws the $25 mil, and anyway a deal to mine would have greater long-term benefits for all parties, so I expect that that is what will happen.

To be fair to the Kazakhs - they have not been long from under the diktat of the commissars. The capitalist system is entirely different in some basic principles. Some mistakes in starting off should be forgiveable .... Lord knows we all make a few

I betcha Standard Bank is closely following the wws story .....

.......... cheers all ............. go steppe ......... marcos
