Dear FLG,
Carol is absolutely right in why I say half brother. The scripture that reveals James relation to the Lord is Matthew 13:54-56
54 Coming to His hometown, He began teaching the people in their Synagogue, and they were amazed. Where did this man get this wisdom and miraculous powers? they asked.
55 Isn't this the carpenters son? Isn't His mothers name Mary, and aren't His brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?
56 Aren't all His sisters with us?
He had half sisters too with Mary and Joseph. Gabriel only told Joseph not to have relations with her until Jesus was born.
Other verses are Mark 6:3, Luke 24:10
Galatians 1:19 I saw none of the other Apostles- only James the Lords brother.
There are 4 James in the NT. Only one was His brother and the leader of the Jerusalem council and author of the book of James. One of the James dies before the book of James was written and the other 2 had little influence to write a book of this magnitude.
I hope this is what you are looking for. Have a great day, the weather here is awesome and our kids are home and we are enjoying the beauty of Spring, May the Lord bless you and I have no problem with your title, remember I have 2 boys 8 and 10 and Godzilla is hot stuff around here. Nancy
