There's some truth to what you say (how's that for a condescending remark? :-0). Honestly, MSFT got to where they are because they are/were good. No question. But can't you admit that they've stifled competition as of late, not just purely on the price and quality of their product, but rather through less than admirable means? And wouldn't you also admit that the lack of competitive options has forced many to accept an OS that is quite bulky in many regards? Surely you would concede that MSFT has somewhat of an unfair advantage in developing apps for windows -- i.e. it's hardly an open system to developers?
