>>>Obviously you think Hydra is a better solution than Picasso/Metaframe. Ask resellers what they think. It's not Hydra.<<

Tom,

Again, I don't understand you. I have never, ever stated that Hydra is a better solution than pICAsso. Further, Hydra is not yet available; I'm not sure why you are getting so defensive - unless you are a Citrix reseller yourself, with a vested interest.

I simply raise the question that when Microsoft have a "good enough" solution (and the NC manufacturers are already gearing up for RDP), and they have a massively larger reseller community than Citrix, then there must be significant competition.

And a Microsoft VAR that can sell cheaper (speculation) standard BackOffice product will have a competitive advantage over a Citrix VAR. From this analysis, I assert that there will be a day of reckoning.

However, Citrix have purchased technology from Insignia Solutions that opens up the market for cross-platform windows sessions; I don't know what Citrix are doing with that technology (perhaps they are burying it, because Insignia's Keoke was superior for remote or local connections to ICA), but at least it would be a market that Microsoft would be unlikely to chase.

Have a nice weekend,

Ray
