It seems that my enthusiasm (and yours) about Intel's performance
may have been misguided. In view of today's selloff now in progress
in computer - related stocks (incuding Intel), I too am worried about
a slowing in growth of demand for PCs. Evidently, Tom Kurlack has
reduced his earnings estimates for Intel this year and next as a result
of slowing PC demand.

I find all of this quite disturbing since I called Intel just yesterday.
One of the Investor Relations people there told me directly that
Intel was sticking with the estimates made in January: a flat Q1
and a good 1996. I specifically asked about slowing PC demand
and was told they still expect the industry to see growth of over 15%
this year.

Also, since Carl Johnson on this Bulletin Board spoke of hearing of
the conversion of one of Intel's Pentium production lines to flash
memory, Iasked about that as well. I was told that demand for flash
memory was very strong and the conversion was a result of improving
yields in Pentium manufacture. Another of carl's comments regarding
possible layoffs at Intel was denied outright.

Something doesn't add up here!

Zack
