True, Eric, IF Avid sticks to the Media Composer on a MAC, but NOT true if they start hyping uncompressed video on an NT platform (I believe they demoed a prototype at NAB...which, I have been told crashed frequently). This would force their existing base to convert to a whole new setup on NT to remain competitive. I'm sure their partner, Intel would love to see this happen. I also know that most current Composer owners would be justifiably angered at having to make this move.

I'm an editor (New York). I use Avids exclusively for broadcast shows. I love the systems and I also love the Mac platform. I would be very upset if I'm forced to move to NT and line Bill Gates' pocket.
