Can I offer a theory on that??? Just something to think about... Lucent split off of AT&T right?? AT&T is one of the most held stocks in the world.. (or is it country.. I forget).. anyway, everyone that has been working for AT&T has to sell their AT&T stock and move into Lucents' by the years end. That amounts to a lot of employees who have had 25 years to own a lot of AT&T. As everyone makes the switch, the demand continues to run the price up and up and up. If you have noticed, Lucent has moved into the top ten widely held stocks in only a year and half or so... that is very interesting to me. Any thoughts on this?? ... or am I just grasping at straws??? But, to Lucent's good, they have just received three contracts in the last three weeks to the total of 1,060,000,000 over the next three years... not a bad piece of change if you ask me... so now you ask yourself, will earnings catch up with the price, or will the price fall down to earnings??? Your guess is as good as mine. Good luck everyone.
