Paul,

I think the statement Wigglesworth attached pretty much explained
NETA goals. A 10 percent cut in the entire company's work force
sounds about right to me. Company's report mentioned it was mostly
overlapping administrative personnel that were cut.

What really knocked me out was that NETA plans to hire 1,000 more
people in certain sales, support and et cetera.

Programmers can be a cult group. I know a goody bunch of programmers
at Lucent Technology in my hometown in Naperville. They are a very
smart semi-cult group altho not always wise when it comes to business.
Very nice people and loyalistic to each other and the company. It
seems half those posting on the Yahoo-Neta board are ex-programmers
of NETG and NETA. I do not blame them but they are disgrunted
employees of the two companies. I like to hear their side of the
story because to be a successful investor you really have to know
the bad stuff first before buying a stock. Disgrunted employees are
the best source of bad information about any company. You need to
keep your head clear headed and listen to both sides.

I should also point out that NETA is NT driven. They are trying to
get away from Unix which is a wonderful product. Unfortunately, the
way Microsoft dominates the industry - NT is the way to go. It is
my guess that the programmers that were cut were mostly Unix
programmers. They are pissed that NETA didn't take the time to
retrain them from Unix to NT. I am guessing NETA is moving to fast
on the acquisition trail to retrain them. It would be easier to hire
those already trained in NT.

Regards,

Cyclops
