Boeing had a supply-chain failure in Q2/97 that resulted in a $1.6 billion loss that caused production of the 747 jumbo and 737 models to be halted for one month.

"TAVA Oldtimers" already know that TAVA's been working with Boeing on "core" business. A Y2K "contract" has never been "officially" announced".

"Oldtimers" already understand Y2K impact on supply chains and relation to Y2K. Newbies who want to go "long" should spend some time understanding the company, what they do, supply chains, etc. But, right now I'd probably buy first and learn later. Not what I'd normally suggest ... but FORTUNE article was just too powerful.

We've been talking about these issues for months. Maybe a FORTUNE reporter's been following this thread: - ))

GM is VERY concerned about their "supply chain". Y2K contract with TAVA was announced at Jan '98 stockholders meeting. Unfortunately, no specifics. Just validation that they signed on with TAVA for Y2K.

It's a shame that attorneys for client companies will not release info on Y2K contracts with TAVA, and we usually have to wait for conference calls. It's pretty exciting to see so many big names!

I imagine with SEC forcing Y2K disclosure on 10K's, will start seeing more PR releases ... in spite of Scott's 45-day rule.
