I read the last article first Christine. It was interesting, and had a large sample population. I haven't read the details of the WHO study, but I've got to admit I don't have a lot of respect for WHO, and I'm willing to bet big money that neither do the people on this thread who have cited their study. Further, unless we know the details of the study it is hard to comment on it but it didn't sound as if it addressed all the health effects of second hand smoke- just lung cancer. It didn't sound like it addressed stroke, heart disease, emphysema, and other potentially smoking related ailments. I am going to try to find the study now and I will read it carefully. I'll post a link if I find something good.

I took IBD for a couple of years, and I've got to say their editorials were a joke. Even thought I agreed with some of their positions they inevitably took their arguments to ridiculous extremes becoming shrill and irrational, and defeating their own purpose- assuming they are trying to convert people to the cause of conservatism (from their editorials sometimes one gets the feeling they are actually a tool of the liberals- by making the conservative case so badly).
