Brian - Re: " that means that Intel's margins will be dropping below AMD's ?"

AMD's margins are NEGATIVE, BELOW ZERO - they LOSE MONEY with each K6 they sell.

As for Intel, remember - the Deschutes is now a 0.25 micron device - 131 sq. mm and shrinking!

Intel made good margins on the older Pentium II (0.35 micron/203 mm²) in 1997 while severely reducing prices.

They can now accelerate this trend with the smaller Deschutes die.

Besides, maybe Intel is giving IBM and Compaq "sweet deals" on the high speed Deschutes!

Re: "do you think I should by some Intel puts ?"

I will tell you this now - only once! Intel is reporting their earnings on Tuesday. The earnings and forward looking guideance may SPOOK ALL THE ANALYSTS!

This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy ALL THE INTEL PUTS that you can afford on Monday.

SO yes - BUY PUTS on Intel or short the stock.

You have the opportunity for incredible financial gains

Go for it!

Paul
