Why not possible . Isn't it the volumn control the cost of mother board and others ?

Slot 1 motherboards are selling less expensive than some of the socket 7 motherboards already. In the meantime, Intel is pressing control on the chipset patent for socket 7 motherboards manufacturers..... they have to pick one that will make the most profit and also stay with the majority of the market.
