Martin,
I like your posts. I have said that a personal relationship with the Lord is the true gift, eternal life is a bonus, but He is everything. Yeshua gave us that relationship and obviously not because we are perfect but because He first loved us while we were yet sinners. Does that mean we are perfect enough now to bash anyone. GOD FORBID!!!!!! The angels in Heaven never look down on anyone so who are we? I study about Him and obey Him because of the magnitude of respect and love I have for Him and His Word. IMHO that is what was missing from the law, serving Him should be a joy and not a duty. I have thought for years that a verse in Proverbs that says, If a mans ways are pleasing to the Lord He will give him the desires of his heart, meant He will give you whatever you want but now I think it is much deeper than that. I think He is saying He will give us the desire to serve Him and gain wisdom and life in Yeshua. Obedience in this life leads to peace that is the goal of His ways eternal life is a gift. Each of the things He says to stay away from brings troubles now and later so it is not there to put people down but to set all who accept it free from all their troubles. Oh, the love of God is so far above our ways it has to be revealed by Him as we seek it. May His love and peace overflow all our cups today as we rejoice in Yeshuas VICTORY over death and sin, Nancy
