Races like MKts!
I like the analogies to betting races & playing stocks/options. Don't have a track close-by & don't care to bet unless I'm at the track, but my experience betting horses & playing stocks sees quite a similarity. My wife, like so many others, goes to the track for 'entertainment'. She places small bets on every race, usually to Place or Show. She will usually lose a fair bit of her quota, feeding the 'winners', but comes home satisfied she was entertained & may even have had a fair win or two. I don't claim to be greatly successful but do somewhat better, except I may not get as much entertainment value. I only bet to win & may only bet 1 or 2 or 0 races per meet. Only go with the very best looking bets & never on fillies. No offence ladies, but there can be off times in a month & I would need the inside info. I am quite nervous about shorting as even a poor horse can make the money sometimes & if it does, I'm left with my nervous money, some of it. The bettors with the inside info, the insiders & shorters, know the important details concerning the horses & jockeys, which really matter & betting against them is a sure way to lose, unless we're after 'entertainment' The track & the mkt are loaded in favor of the big players, in the know. We must subdue our emotions & play only at the very best opportunities, not be bound by any lone indicator & attempt to watch what the 'smart' money is doing. IMHO we should have a plan with targets, never get greedy, unless we're rich & after entertainment. BWDIK
