I haven't posted any new analyses since the close on Thursday, but I noticed that searches for symbols way down in these posts do not get picked up. I needed to advertise with the above banner.
Analysis at close on 4/09/98. Updated AMAT through XCIT. All commentary is at the time of the last signal received except for some of the notes I've inserted. Signals are based solely on 12 day bollinger bands on %K=5 and %D=3 stochastics. Signals are generated as the stochastic line crosses one of five bollinger band lines. A "buy" means go long only. A "buy to cover" means cover any open short positions, but does not mean go long. A "sell" means sell any open long positions but does not mean sell short. A "sell short" means go short only. Many times the signals are too late because the price move on the day of the signal was very large. Look for signals where the stock has not already moved very much. This advice will keep you out of trouble. Also, always use stops. Happy trading.
Here's something I noticed that might help somebody. With tight/narrow bollinger bands, the signal generated with stochastics are often 180 degrees out of phase because of the delay involved in getting the signal on past data. On tight bands, it can be profitable to consider selling on buy signals and buying on sell signals until the actual breakout occurs.
NASDAQ Last signal sell on 6 Apr. Still in an uptrend. 5 day stochastics are nearing the lower band. In this situation, I'd start thinking correction when or if the stochastics break through the lower band. (9 Apr note--Trend is neutral and price bounced off of the lower bollinger band. I think we're going to be locked in a range on the NASDAQ of 1800 to 1850.)
ADPT Last signal sell short on 7 Apr. Downtrend and low current volatility. Needs to break support at just under $20. I think its going to do that now.
AMAT Last signal sell on 30 Mar. The trend is still up, but with this one I don't take chances. (6 Apr note--another sell signal today if you stayed in on the last one.)
AMD Last signal sell or sell short on Apr 3. Still on an uptrend, but the volatility got really too high. I'd expect a countertrend drop that is shortable.
AMGN Last signal buy to cover on 7 Apr. Its on a good downtrend. If you are into taking on a little bit more risk, cover the short when the stochastics first gets to and is about to cross the middle band on stochastics--the 12 day moving average of 5 day stochastics. (8 Apr note, stochastics are right at and about to cross the 12 day moving average.)
AMZN Last signal buy on 9 Apr. Trend is still up. (7 Apr. note. The trend is now neutral. Support at $80 from lower bollinger band.)
AOL Last signal sell on 6 Apr. (9 A;r note close to a buy signal.)
ARX Last signal sell short on 7 Apr. Starting a downtrend. First support under $12.
ASA Last signal sell on 31 Mar. Still on a good uptrend. Can write the $22.50 May calls instead. Volatility is peaked. (9 Apr. note--itsstill about to give a sell signal, but with the solid uptrend, I'd want a greater breakdown in stochastics before actually selling. Ignore the signal for now.)
ASND Last signal buy on 8 Apr. Trend is up slightly. Today was a breakout. Volatility is increasing to the upside. I'd expect resistance at $45. Buy in the money calls to keep delta low and decrease amount spent for time value.
AVM Last signal sell or sell short on 6 Apr. Narrow bands and really low volatility. Now a bias for a downside break. Nice whipsawing effect. An upside break goes to $15. A downside break goes to $12.
AVNT Last signal sell on 1 Apr. Real good uptrend so may want to see more of move downward in stochastics before selling. (9 Apr note--about to give a buy signal. Neutral trend for ride to upper bollinger band.)
BBIOY Last signal buy to cover on 9 Apr. Still in a downtrend.
BMY Last signal sell short on 8 Apr. (7 Apr. note--Close to a sell short signal at the upper bollinger band at $108. The trend is perfectly neutral/flat. Use the upper and lower bollinger band on price. A short at $108 is likely to go to the lower band at $101. Looks like stochastics will confirm the sell at the upper band.
BNYN Last signal buy on 6 Apr. Still in an uptrend. Volatility is dropping off dramatically. Looks like a major decision point. Uptrend gives it an upward bias for a break. Resistance is a $6.50. Stochastics still a buy supporting the upward break scenario for now.
CADE Last signal sell on 31 Mar. Still showing an uptrend. Very high peaked volatility--Countertrend drop is likely. Take profits.
CBIZ Last signal sell or sell short on 6 Apr. neutral to slightly down trend. Volatility is at a minimum. (9 Apr. note--Looks like a stop out on short. Breaking out to the upside.)
CDRD Last signal sell on 7 Apr. The volatility is proably high enough to short against the uptrend. Higher risk play.
CEXP Last signal buy on 7 Apr. Unexpected break upwards initiating an uptrend move. Jump on board for a short term ride until the volatility peaks. Buy calls in the money. Volatility is increasing.
CFON Last signal sell short on 8 Apr. (9 Apr. note. Resistance is at $4.00 on upside. Don't cover long term shorts.)
CIEN Last signal buy to cover on 7 Apr as stochastics are crossing the middle band.
CKFR Last signal buy on 26 Mar. There was that long awaited signal. The uptrend is still intact. Remember there is still resistance at $24 to $25. (8 Apr note--maybe this is going to $30. Watch for a greater breakdown in stochastics, i.e. crossover of 12 day moving average because of the strong uptrend.)
CLST Last signal sell short on 6 Apr. The trend is slightly down now.
COMS Last signal buy to cover on 7 Apr. Its on a neutral trend so pay attention to your bollinger bands. Its sitting on the lower band and its sitting on a support level and stochastics are about to give a buy signal. Time to cover all shorts.)
CORR Last signal sell on 7 Apr. Same analysis as CKFR. High volatility, price stalled at a resistance level and stochastics are about to give a sell signal. Time to take profits on long positions. (9 Apr. note--looking for greater breakdown in stochastics.)
CORX Last signal buy on 8 Apr.
CPQ Last signal buy on 9 Apr. The trend is fairly neutral.
CTXS Last signal sell on 3 Apr. Looks like I didn't pick up the unofficial signal when stochastics crossed below its own 12 day moving average. (9 Apr. note--about to give a buy signal. Neutral trend should be played between the bands.)
CYBR Last signal sell short on 6 Apr. The trend is down.
CYCH Last signal sell on 7 Apr. The trend is neutral on low volatility. Using bollinger bands, yesterday would have given a sell signal--and stochastics being near a sell would have confirmed it or setting a stop at the daily low would have been good downside protection. (9 Apr. looks like its going to break to the upside anyways.)
CYMI Last signal sell on 7 Apr. Trend is still up but will likely go neutral. Will probably be a buy at the lower bollinger band.
CYPB Last signal sell or sell short on 8 Apr. Still narrow bands and low volatility. Bias for a downside break.

FONR Last signal buy to cover on 8 Apr. Don't cover long term shorts since its under $5.00.
GDT Last signal sell short on 27 Mar. The trend is down. (31 Mar. note--very unusal price move up today. I'd stick with the short for now. Pick an exit to buy to cover just past $75.)
GERN Last signal buy to cover on 8 Apr. Cover at the lower bollinger band.
GTW Last signal buy on 8 Apr. The trend is up. Good break to buy calls on.
HD Last signal sell on 6 Apr. Very neutral trend. Good trade between bands--$65 and $70. (9 Apr note--surprise move to the upside. Breaking out. Its a buy.)
HRSH Last signal buy to cover on 2 Apr. Good downtrend. May want to see more strength, more hook in stochastics before covering the short.

LSI Last signal sell on 6 Apr. Trend is up but volatility is high and its doing the countertrend drop. 5 day stochastics crossed through the middle band to the downside. Can also write out of the money calls because its at a volatility peak.
LTBG Last signal sell on 7 Apr. Still in an uptrend.
LTXX Last signal sell short on 31 Mar. Slight downtrend.
MAIN Last signal sell short on 7 Apr. This is a picture perfect short. Its on a downtrend, price is up against the upper bollinger band at the same time, volatility is decent and stochastics are hooking downward giving a sell signal---Only one problem, can't short under $5. Look for MAIN $5 puts for May.
MEDA Last signal buy on 2 Apr. I'm thinking run to $12. (7 Apr note--trend is down slightly so look to short it if it break below support at $10. Just jump on the train as the volatility increases.)
MIND Last signal buy to cover on 1 Apr.
MPDI Last signal buy on 9 Apr. Neutral trend. Trade between the bands.
MSFT Last signal buy on 9 Apr.
MUEI Last signal sell on 7 Apr. Price is up against resistance at $14 and stochastics is giving a sell even for a good uptrend. Volatility is peaked as well.

SEEK Last signal sell short on 31 Mar. Narrow band and low volatiliy and a slight downtrend. Definite bias for a downward break. (1 Apr note--forget the short. Should have been stopped out early today. Today's action is what can happen when you gamble on really narrow bollinger bands.)

UTX Last signal buy on 1 Apr. Volatility is actually quite low on this one, so I don't expect any price drops on the next sell signal. (7 Apr very close to a sell signal.)
VECO Last signal sell on 3 Apr. Good uptrend. Its at the resistance level of $40. I'd sell before it crosses the middle band on stochastics. (9 Apr note--on uptrend and its about to give a good buy signal on narrow bands.)
