I guess the consensus on earnings varied. I thought it was .27 not .25? I see someone else agreed with my feeling. After the market closed, Ascend Communications (ASND) posted a first-quarter profit of 26 cents a diluted share, a penny short of the consensus estimate. Ascend also said it sees strong demand for capacity in the network backbone system and growth in the consumer segment. Ahead of the news, shares closed down 1 1/4 to 39 1/2. cbs.marketwatch.com Jeff
