What could they do if I pay the correct amount, have good deductions, provide all the information ... just not in the exact format they request? . They would audit you to make sure you did it correctly. . What you presented seemed complicated to me, with rolling averages etc. . Will you likely be holding lots of positions open at 12/31/98? . Why not just enter each buy and each sell into Excel and sort by ticker symbol. I'd bet for an active trader that the total shares bought will EQUAL the total shares sold for each ticker symbol, and THAT will be easy to report on... . Colin
