Magnifique -- Just a few comments from a PLAT-longer.
> potential is present ,but would not materialiaze, doesn,t >matter how 'brilliant"will be future aqusitions,as long as >management is so obsessed with them, that they forgot >the fact that Plat is public co and shareholder,s value >is CEO primary responsibility, also acqusition binge even > if earnings ACCRETIVE is not what Wall street likes ..... I think FLIP is very aware of shareholder value. Listen to his comments at the Gartner conference as well as any of the conference calls over the last several quarters. FLIP is VERY focused on shareholder value...and he is increasing it. Sorry, but I disagree on what Wall Street likes. If the street didn't like this company, it wouldn't be over 3/4 institutionally held, which PLAT is. The Street loves this company. And its triple increase in price over the last 14 months shows this -- and I'll take steady growth in market value any day. But by all measures, PLAT is way undervalued and has more intrinsic value than most. Its cash position is also increasing quarter over quarter, cash flow is improving dramatically, and sales are exploding. I am sorry, but this one is a rocket waiting to happen.
>Investors/traders rather prefer a lot of Big Earnings Producing >contracts
PLAT's deals over a million keep increasing at a dramatic rate (again, I reference the last conference call and earnings), and the deals over $10 mill on comprehensive suite deals are also increasing.
> low expenses, excellent marketing and desire of management >besides technological breakthrough,s to CONSISTENTLY >INCREASE SHAREHOLDERS VALUE in form of dividend,s splits, >buyback,s spinoffs..... Those aren't the only measures. Revenue's will reach over a billion this year...and with cash over $250 mil and cash flow in the positive, value is there and growing...but at an exponential rate.
> non of which ' Flip" presently producing...... will he change in 2,3 or >4th quarter,
He doesn't need to change with the expressed vision. PLAT will be one of the few to survive.
>stock is nothing BUT dissapointment in the face of the greatest Bull >market, when people make millions dealing with other >names.... Two things: stock is not a disappointment for those that got in (long) at 9 (like myself and many others here) and have seen it in less than 12 months touch 31. It will be back in the 30's shortly, and in the 50's in the next 12 months. That is NOT a disappointment.
And on the "making millions." Well, that happens every day -- in upturn markets and downturn markets. It was Neiderhoffer who thought the same -- until the last market downturn KILLED him and his fund. I stick with fundamental analysis because (don't take this the wrong way), charting and market timing is just too much tea leaf reading.
>Unfortunately in a long run we are all dead.. True enough...but there are a lot of old people out there now who thought the same, that could've bought MSFT or Coke or DELL 10 years ago in volume and kept them until now...and well, we've all read THOSE stories in Fortune or Forbes. The long run we are dead. Yep. But no one knows when. It is the smart money that is patient with a fundamentally sound winner. If you do a fundamental analysis on PLAT ... well, you see winner written all over it, charts be damned.
>what counts is here and NOW... What counts is perspecitve and cool heads when the market goes wild. You look at any chart and take a "here and now" snap shot, and it is no predictor of what came before or after with 100% accuracy. You look at a chart long enough, however, and hindsight becomes genius. We will talk about PLAT in the future and these current prices will seem cheap...even if some of us are dead by then .
>Best wishes
Best to you, as well. Really.
