BANKAMERICA has agreed to
merge with NationsBank in a deal valued at
about $60 billion, people familiar with the
situation say. The combined company,
called BankAmerica, would be the biggest
U.S. bank, with $570 billion in assets and
branches stretching from coast to coast.
