I looked at the site.

I did enjoy reading (under "water supply") about hydraulic ram pumps. I was trying to figure how I would use one in my house. I guess to assure a steady water supply I would install a hydrualic ram pump in the basement, and then I would turn on the basement water tap. The pump would raise some of that water to a tank in my attic (the rest would run out through the basement drain). That way I would be assured of a steady water supply and would be safe from the collapse of things when the computer ships all went wrong.

Of course, this would mean that my water bill would be ten times normal, but if I could persuade the city billing office to accept Kruggerands I will be OK on that one.

Maybe I could salvage some of the lost water by catching it in buckets and hauling it out to water the garden. That would help to grow my survivalist tomatoes.
