Hi again John.
Still mulling around the problem of getting the word out. I do appreciate the educational nature of some of the recent postings, but I'm a bit like a dog with a bone when I don't understand something.
I realise now that my mention of Carlson may not have been too helpful without any context.
I trade a little, (1-2 stocks a month) but watch the markets daily. I always use Carlson for Canadian stock info. When I go to Carlson for UIC there is no current or historical record of your news releases. Contrast this with your bidding partner Glentel. If you look at their current listing, there is the announcement of your partnership.

I "think" Carlson really only acts as an indexing site. Their list of sources is:

From fin-info.com

Canadian Corporate News
Canada NewsWire
ISDN Wire Services

The Toronto Stock Exchange
The Vancouver Stock Exchange
The Montreal Exchange
SEDAR
Strategis
Wright Investor Services (research reports)

Security APL (quotes only)
Canada Stockwatch (quotes and charts only)

Silicon Investor (discussion groups only)
Web sites of public companies

But, they only seem to create their current news listing from the top three on the list. My guess would be that using one of the three listed as the conduit for your releases would result in current listings on Carlson.

Should you care? FWIW I think the current linking arrangement between SI and Carlson points to the relative standing of the different services in each market. SI claims to have the highest penetration of stock discussion groups in North America. There are good pay-per-use services, but we all like free.

I also found your electronic ink trails on some other sites, (including the Fool!! Again!! ;-), you are a glutton for punishment) so I think I understand what you are trying to accomplish. My opinion is that UIC needs a little more standard coverage to create a base from which to generate more public interest.

Have a good day. I'm chief cook for the day, so the family is busy finding ways to be elsewhere by dinner time!
