Outside USA, year 2000 glitch ignored

Most European and Asian firms have not prepared for the year 2000
software glitch - a fact that may come back to hurt U.S. companies.

The problem: On the first day of the new century, computers will think
it's Jan. 1, 1900 instead of 2000, a glitch that could cause massive
disruption in business and government services. Unlike U.S. companies,
Europe and Asia have been slow to address the problem
