I asked my son-in-law about the heart disease problem in Asia and he said the same thing you are saying. Heart disease is not a major problem in Asian countries. He is a cardiologist and spent time in Vietnam hospitals treating the local people. During the whole time he was there, he didn't treat one person for heart disease. The last two sentences sound conflicting, but he was there to treat illnesses and injuries. Preventive medicine may be the reason they would use the scanner. With the "Westernization" of the Asian countries, the possibility gets greater for higher fat diets and stress related illnesses.
