Your beds sound so beautiful. I wish I liked gardening. I feel as if there were some really serious flaw in me--so many people I admire garden, and talk about getting close to the earth and how relaxing it is--they seem so ethereal and pure. I tried--I bought some cute flowered gloves and a little set of garden tools, put them in a basket- because image is half the battle-and went out to the front beds. Lasted about ten minutes. It was hot in the sun, and boring. Prickly things went through my gloves so I swore a lot, which didn't make me feel ethereal at all. And the weeds had some sort of magic spell on them, where as soon as one was pulled, a new one, bigger and meaner, grew up in its place. That's why I have Catarino now, the outdoor version of Perfect Eric. Now I can go out after the sun goes down and walk around looking ethereal post facto.
