I disagree. DVD is currently playback-only with mainstream, low-cost, consumer recording technolgies on the very distant horizon (DVD-RAM still can't handle a dual layer disc, much less double sided, dual layer).

Even if DVD hit 85% penetration, playback only, VCRs would still be needed until a digital replacement was available. I would counter that high penetration of DVD would actually increase the need for MVSN since users basically have a studio digital track to record from.
