MS-DW had Ascend on its morning call:

"Ascend Communications (ASND - 39 7/8 - 0) reported EPS of $0.26, beating Analyst Alkesh Shah's estimate by a penny due to lower-than-expected R&D spending. Alkesh maintains his Outperform rating and EPS estimates of $1.16 for 1998 and $1.45 for 1999. His price target is $45."
