Another Jaz Hell Story.

I subscribe to the Roland VS-880 mailing list. This little tidbit just appeared on it.

If there are any who are using the Jaz drive for anything other than backup purposes, I want to share my horrible experiences with you.

Stop using it!!

STOP IT.

Don't even put a cartridge in your drive only to listen...

It (the wonderful Jaz) has ruined all my carts (7 in all). The last
two died today. 1 1/2 years of pain and suffering, all nonexistent except for a couple of cassettes and the hope of some sort of a recovery program for the PC...

Is it any wonder that Roland officially dropped the Jaz drive as an option in the VS-880 digital audio recorder some time ago? Now all this poor soul has left of his musical recordings is a few one-off cassette tapes. All of his master data on Jaz is all gone! That sucks! Thanks Iomega!
