new Video Text Service. Through this technology, users can display full-screen
advertisements, video backgrounds, and continuously updated news, sports, and
business information.
Cybernetic Services feeds the news updates from its satellites to a
private network of TV monitors. Subscribers tailor the news information to
their needs and incorporate their own video advertisements.
Users can display information in one of three formats:
-- VBI - Occupies 15% of the bottom of monitors. Text can move as a
ticker, scroll-up, or frame-by-frame (similar to product seen on CNBC
and ESPN).
-- Full Screen - Appears over the entire monitor. Includes video and text
information. Text appears in pages, scroll-up, or line-by-line
formats.
-- Full Screen & VBI - Provides full screen messages with text information
at the bottom of the screen. Allows the user to create a complete
information channel.
