I'd buy Dow puts or equivalent based on the first few hours of FTSE performance. - "wag-the-dog" approach. BUT

a) does it work - what's the record so far. I tried this kind of things some time ago, but failed to get trading data to check it out
b) Liquidity: should not be any problem on US side, but must always be in our minds.
c) why not Nikkei. I'm not sarcastic, just seeing one gigantic market and the earth spinning underneath. The precursors of the Dow open situations are Japanese and then 8hrs later European markets.
