Reading the pre-announcement really isn't much more than missing earnings by a couple of pennies. Revenues were up nearly 40%. With their leadership position coupled with the SecureSight announcement this quarter, 1998 looks to be a solid year. Why a 45% price haircut? Probably the momentum players exiting without looking at fundamentals. Plus those investors who were frightened by management statement, compounded by momentum sellers. SDTI owns equity positions in Verisign, Finjan, VPNet and Ncipher. They have $165M in cash and are projected to do $0.95/ share, prior to any minor adjustment from Q1. Quite a few positives in a dynamic sector in which they are the Gorilla candidate. Thoughts?
